Reaching & Educating At-risk Children
Our Vision

To support NGOs in delivering quality education
to the at-risk child: through collaboration rather than competition, through inclusiveness rather than exclusiveness and through empowerment rather than imposition.

Our Mission

There is perhaps nothing more inspiring than a child who learns despite all odds, poverty and gender chief among them. Education for such a child is not a promise, but simply a hope for a better tomorrow.

For every 10 children in school, there are three who are not. Of those in school:

Over 55 million children will not complete four years of school.
Around 30 million children cannot read.
An estimated 120 million of those enrolled will drop out before    class VIII.

REACH India's goal, like that of every developmental agency working in education, is to ensure that every child in India is in school - and learning. Learning to think, to imagine, to dream….After all, the possibilities are endless.

More concretely, the REACH India project aims to attract and retain disadvantaged children in formal and alternative educational programs by strengthening the capacity of Indian NGOs (including not-for-profit organizations and foundations) in selected urban and rural areas.

REACH India will provide grants and technical assistance to NGOs that address the basic education needs of at-risk children - defined for this purpose as children, especially girls, up to 14 years of age, who are either out of school or are in school but in danger of dropping out.
